Zelma is a minor character that Fran meets in Chapter 3. They provide Fran with a clue about the puzzle in the castle library.
Appearance[]
They appear as a small, greenish root with a growth reminiscent of a seed of some kind on top of their head. Unlike most of the other roots seen in Ithersta, they lack a visible nose.
Personality[]
Due to limited interaction with them, little is known about their personality. However, when Fran calls them "cute", they return the compliment; from this, one can infer that they are very sweet to others. They also seem to take things literally: when Fran says to them, "I'm Fran! And you?", their initial response is, "Me? No, I'm not Fran!" They seem to enjoy singing as well, though they may be somewhat forgetful, as they say that they "want to sing all day long" but can only remember a few of their favorite song's lyrics.

The song they sing is actually the first six numbers in the Fibonacci sequence, which are part of the solution to the puzzle in the castle library.
